I have to start with Mary, she may be sweet, she may work for Tesco's in Ireland and she may be an old try-hard but lets be totally honest if she's not banging out David Alexander or Better Midler she struggles. She murders the Elton classic tonight-despite it being the most obvious/easiest choice for her. Her notes were shaky and the poor dab looked utterly terrified! Originally tipped to win she is at risk of the boot before the final if she doesn't sort it out!
Lets talk about little miss drama, Katie. WHY oh WHY will she not do her roots???? can someone please do it while she sleeps?? I cannot believe she is happy to appear on TV with fat black roots!!??!! Hated her outfit, HATED the song for her an the 'I'm so much fun' performance. No Katie, you are not fun, you sat down last week on national TV and said 'sod it' whilst fighting for the biggest chance you will ever get in your life and watched a far more talented person leave the stage. Simon only said a few positive things cos Cheryl filled up with tears when Louis had a dig at the shocking song choice. Nice touch with the 'Miss World' speech though and milking meeting the kids-it wont get you any more votes but 10/10 for effort.
Is Louis Walsh on speed?? He tells Wagner he is like Elton John????? One of the most successful musicians EVER. Even funnier Wagner, rather than graciously thanking Louis for his comment, tells him off for getting his name wrong!!! lets be fair, who cares what your name is? Wagner, wanker, wanger? probably the most talentless man to get this far in a talent competition in history I mean even chico was better than him right?
One direction. What can I say? they had the boyband song, they had the lit up boxes, the piro, the suits and they even had the Westlife movement going on. The big drum bangs then the microphones come off and they do the on the spot walk although never really going anywhere. All they needed were some stools for the total effect. There's no disputing these kids can sing and they are pretty but Simon is very deluded if he believes he has found something totally original. Very clever production though, getting Emma Watson to big them up on the launch week of the new movie.
Matt, Rebecca and Cher were by far the strongest this evening. Rebecca was her usual-stand there on a stage with closed eyes-self but gave a good vocal although I can't help be a bit bored with her, I just want to here something else now or at least see her move and sing?! not even dance JUST move.
Matt was flawless and blasted out yet another spotless vocal looking as relaxed as ever holding on comfortably to the favourite to win spot.
I enjoyed Cher's performance, yes the song choice was obvious but she has so much guts and personality on the stage its so refreshing although when I compare her to other artists in the real world such as Rihanna, Beyonce, Missy and Mary J it all feels a little silly but then she is 17 so it's early days yet.
Prediction for bottom two...
Paije-Utterly shafted, not great but shafted none the less. Put first, given an unknown song. The poor lad is clearly up for the chop and it will take an utter miracle to save him. I feel for Paije as he clearly has real talent but I get the impression he is not being allowed to express himself as he wants to.
Katie-Apparently the girl that Simon thinks the public want to see each week despite her being in the bottom two week on week. Very keen to see if he votes tactically again to save her as lets face it, she is pretty much a dead cert to make the bottom to for every week she remains bless her.
Thanks for reading, be back tomorrow after results.
XOXO
